STORY : 1 SHIP-IN-A-BOTTLE Atul was sleeping peacefully, unaware by then about the world around, when all of a sudden, “THWASSHH”!! He woke up at that strange noise. He looked through the window and saw that his father was throwing out, his “SHIP-AND-BOTTLE” model, his most precious thing, into the trashcan. He was terrified. He ran down the stairs, wearing his shirt, to the main road in order to get it. But, “THRUDSSS”! He fell down the stairs. His father was annoyed of his running down on the staircase. But he managed to escape from his father. But, when he ran to the main road, he saw that the dust-loader was taking the dusts in the dustbin along with his model. He ran after the loader until it was so fast that it disappeared at a corner. So he sat on the road in despair. After a few minutes, Manisha, who was walking by the road, saw Atul and came to him. Atul told her the whole story. So she said of her plan to him. They went to the next stop where the dust-loader takes the trash, which is Mrs. Ankita Ghosh’s house. When it reached there they asked the driver to show them the trash, but, “ I have thrown all the trash at the vat at Diamond Harbour. So there is nothing in my van. Now get out of my way or I will call the police”, said the driver in anger. So, disappointed, we went there. There we saw, empty!!! A man said, “A garbage-ship is taking the trashes to another place to recycle them.” They went to the captain of the ship and said, “Sir! We want you to stop the ship and let us investigate the trash, immediately, or else”!! said Atul acting to be very surly and angry. The captain asked the reason of investigating the trash. So Manisha said, “We are C.I.D police and are searching for the criminal ‘Billa’ who has robbed 19 houses and committed 61 murders and is now hiding in the trash. So we will search for him in the trash or else you will be in jail instead of him.” Now he was tensed and ordered the crew to stop the ship from sailing and to let them search for the criminal. They searched here and there for the model. After half an hour they found it, but had to sneak past the captain unnoticed! But, at last, they found it, the model ship-in-bottle. Near his home, Atul saw a jeep rushing towards him. And suddenly, “CRANKSHH, THUSNSHH”!! Someone crashed into him and broke the model, and ran away!! The jeep stopped by Atul and Manisha and said, “Kids, have you seen a man running from here. His name is ‘Billa’ and he is a notorious criminal who has run away from jail. He has robbed 19 houses and has committed 61 murders. He was hiding at the garbage-ship at Diamond Harbour, but my constable had found him and now we are chasing him. So please tell me where he has gone.” They stared at each other for a moment and then told the direction. The inspector took his jeep and went away. Atul then remembered that he had found a hat at the garbage-ship and suddenly a hand came out then and took it from him. Thinking about this he came home in the evening, at the end of the adventure. |
